EAE Alumni ’19 editions was planned as a dynamic event on which, aside from conferences, would push for networking contacts. This premise lead us to design several lounge areas and catering spots that would encourage participants free movement across the space, as well as a relaxed atmosphere.

Inspired by street markets or other street fests: life music, food-trucks, chill-outs, … so we developed a plan to transfer this structure to the inside of the Grand Hall of the old Drassanes (Shipyards), the actual Maritime Museum of Barcelona; also respecting the reality that it was an event for a business school.

The business school event was composed by several relaxing areas or islands were generated, containing three elements: mobile furniture that could be re-arranged to adapt every networking requirement, greenery as a linking element to the concept of an outside space event and one or two units with graphics and signage. These islands were located peripheral to the main stage.

The catering zone got the inspiration from the street food-trucks or oriental street food kiosks. We designed 5 themed carts and distributed them along the Grand Hall to enhance the participants flow.
